Giving Back

As a family-owned and employee-centered salon company, Elle Marie Hair Studio’s passion is and always will be to care for, nurture and motivate our team, our guests, our community and our industry. We feel a genuine responsibility to give back to the community by being supportive, involved, & charitable and having a presence in our local organizations.

Elle Marie Hair Studio Proudly Supports the Following Organizations

Care with Pink Hair

Since 2007, Elle Marie Hair Studio has supported those who have been affected by breast cancer with their $10 pink hair, tinsel, and feather extensions fundraiser. During the month of October, for a minimum $10 donation, guests can visit any of Elle Marie’s locations in Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Smokey Point/Arlington, Snohomish, and Woodinville to receive a pink hair or feather extension as part of their Care with Pink Hair breast cancer awareness fundraiser. All money raised is donated directly to a reputable organization or individual in need.

In 2023, all funds raised will be donated directly to one of our stylists, Crystal, who is facing her own battle with Breast Cancer. Monetary donations are also accepted online.

Click here for more information on the 2023 fundraiser, or read our feature on Crystal’s journey here.

In previous years, funds have been donated to organizations such as the American Cancer Society through Snohomish County Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Hair to Stay, and the National Breast Cancer Foundation

Hand in Hand

Hand in Hand Safe Place serves children ages 0-17, initially entering foster care. The majority of children served by our shelter are 0-9 years of age

Hand in Hand Safe Place is a shelter that provides 72-hour emergency care for children initially entering the foster care system. Safe Place creates a supportive environment for youth to transition smoothly into foster care and allows time for families to access resources needed for their children to return home. Additionally, placing children in our shelter provides social workers with additional time to locate a foster home that is well suited to meet each child’s needs

An estimated 500 children enter foster care in Snohomish County each year. Many of these children leave home late at night with just minutes to say goodbye to their families. They are loaded into a social worker’s car with only a hastily-packed garbage bag of their belongings in tow.

Before Safe Place, these children would ride in the back of that car, sometimes overnight, while their social worker made calls in hopes of finding them a safe place to stay.

Founded in 2010, Hand in Hand Safe Place was established by a group of foster parents in response to this exact situation – supporting children entering foster care at night and on weekends. It was the first program of its kind

Dresscode Project

Dresscode Project‘s mission is to educate and empower hair stylists and barbers to give people haircuts that help them look the way they feel. We envision a world where every hair salon and barbershop is a gender affirming, safer-space for LGBTQ2S+ clients.

Dresscode Project provides education, events and support to salons and hairdressers all over the globe looking to create safer spaces in their areas.

The Professional Beauty Industry has always been considered a safer space for people within the LGBTQ2S+ communities, but we still have a long way to go with education, acceptance and understanding and it’s our mission to make sure we continue forward momentum.

Green Circle Logo
Sustainability

As the world faces a serious global climate change crisis, it’s important – now more than ever – to stand up together and make change happen. Green Circle Salons’ award-winning program empowers salons to offset their emissions and recover up to 95% of their beauty waste. That includes previously unrecoverable materials and hard-to-recycle items like hair clippings, foils, excess hair color, aerosol cans, and color tubes.

We’re proud to partner with Green Circle Salons to do our part in fighting beauty waste and climate change.
