Passion for the Industry:
I love having people from all walks of life sit in my chair and being able to find commonality and draw inspiration from them. Unleashing beauty in my clients using creativity and communication energizes me and makes every new day exciting. As a stylist I’m able to not only express myself creatively but help my clients’ personalities shine through via their unique and individual styles that we create together.
Who Inspires Me?
My dad raised me and my sister as a single parent. Seeing him struggling to bring up two young women on his own taught me a lot about what it means to be strong, independent, and how to trust yourself. From these lessons I’ve been able to follow my passion and find a career I love that allows me to express my creativity and where being motivated leads to success.
Professional Development (Education)
- Certified Pureologist
- Brazilian Gloss Certified

After a long day behind the chair you can usually find me unwinding in a bubble bath and getting wrapped up in a good book. If I’m not there then I might be spending time with my husband Jacob and our dog Luna, maybe decorating our new house, or planning a trip to have some fun under the sun.
Favorite Products and Why:
- Pureology Volumizing Shampoo - It does exactly what it says without pulling out color and still leaving it soft.
- Redken Outshine - It adds lots of shine and manageability without weighing it down.
- Redken Guts - It gives mass fullness without causing your hair to feel sticky.
Staying current on the latest trends and techniques maintains my passion for the industry and is also what keeps my clients coming back to me.
"I had a great experience with you! My color turned out basically the way that I wanted it (darkest brown). We now have a stylist and a place to go to when we want to get beautiful. The front desk girls were also awesome, very nice."
~ Theresa P. - Bothell, WA (E-mail to Marissa on 12/1/10.)
"I just wanted to thank you Marissa for a great haircut, you did just what I wanted. I have been a stylist since the early 80's and have only had my hair done twice by someone else. I will definitely be back and also refer my friends to you. When I walked in the door after my new look my kids said "wow I did not think it would look that good", and that quote is from teenagers. :) Thanks Marisa!"
~ Jennifer B. - Mill Creek, WA (E-mail to Marissa on 9/16/09.)
"I just wanted to say thank you again. I'm still loving the new look. It's something that has changed alot more for me than just my physical appearance. It takes much less time to style my hair now and I feel beautiful for once. Even though it may be just a haircut, it's affected me in a very big way. THANK YOU!!! :)"
~ Leah - Granite Falls, WA (E-mail to Marissa on 5/31/09.)
"I have LOVED every haircut I have had with you. Thank goodness Phil told me you were moving when you left the Mall! You are the one special expense I get after I have the baby (I am dropping Starbucks for haircuts). Can't wait for my next great cut. Thank you for your great vision as a stylist and showing me a great time whenever I sit down in your chair. NEVER boring!"
~ Kathryn C. - Mill Creek, WA (E-mail to Marissa on 3/5/09.)
"I wanted to tell you how awesome you are! I love love love my haircut. It was honestly the best haircut ever, which is why I came back! Plus you took the time and taught me to backcomb my hair, which I can totally do now, so a huge "THANK YOU!" for that, not to mention that when I told you that I do not typically do much with my hair in the mornings (so not a morning person) you went over a couple easy, fast, and super cute things I can do with my hair and it always ends up looking awesome! Thank you for not only being an amazing stylist but taking the time to teach your clients!!!"
~ Erin R. - Mill Creek, WA (E-mail to Marissa on 2/18/09.)
"Just writing to let you know how much I appreciate your time and effort on doing my hair. I'm still trying to get use to growing my bangs out. ERRRR "I can do it" You have always made me feel welcomed. I just wanted to let you know this.
You have a great gift and talent in what you do. I look forward to my next visit as soon as I feel I need to come in.
P.S My white beetle finally is running great. A bit $$$$$ but oh well. Tell your receptionist thanks for bringing me home. What a huge help that was. It is so nice to have people that take the time to care."
