Requesting a small donation of just $10, to date Elle Marie is proud to have raised over $25,900 towards this important cause.
According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), breast cancer is second only to skin cancer as the most common cancer in the United States among women. It follows lung cancer as the second leading cause of cancer death in women. About 1 in 8 women will have invasive breast cancer sometime during her life. Breast cancer death rates have been declining, possibly due to the result of early detection and better treatment. At this time there are more than 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. This includes women still being treated and those who have completed treatment. About 281,550 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2021. About 49,290 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) will be found. Sadly, breast cancer will claim the lives of about 43,600 women this year.
